At Northwest Wools we are committed to giving Knitters, Crocheters and Weavers lots of choices in all natural yarns. We also provide a broad selection of fibers for Weavers, Spinners and Felters. What we have online
Our online offerings are focused on one of the things we do best - creating Yarn Kits for Knitters, Crocheters and Weavers! We are pleased to start offering these Yarn Kits online to you - so those of you who cannot travel to our Portland Brick & Mortar location can enjoy them as well. Yowza!! We have organized our Kits into Collections, to make them easy to peruse: Shawls & Wraps, Scarves, Cowls & Infinity Scarves, Toppers, Hats, etc. Most of our Yarn Kits are aimed at Intermediate or Beginner levels, to ensure your success. And we prefer to call the Beginner level kits our “Zen” kits, as that’s how we view them - relaxing, calming and lots of fun!
What else we have
We have a very large yarn inventory at our Brick & Mortar shop, carrying all the big name commercial yarns, plus lots of indies. We make sure we have lots of color choices in our yarns, as well as sweater or afghan quantities for your larger projects. We also carry yarns for dyeing in many different fibers.
We remain committed to all natural fibers. We carry the full range of animal fibers at our Brick & Mortar shop: from alpaca, angora, bison, camel, cashmere, llama, merino, mohair, wool and yak. We have lots of plant-based fibers too: bamboo, chenille, cotton, linen blends, rayon, silk, tencel, and viscose. You can view the full listings of our yarns by manufacturers on our main website.
We carry the largest inventory of spinning and felting fibers in Portland at our Brick & Mortar location. We have hand-dyed roving braids from Dicentra Designs and Woolgatherings, colored merino roving from Foxglove Fibers and un-dyed white top roving from Brown Sheep. Plus we carry un-dyed unique or rare breed roving from Shaggy Bear Farms, as well as other specialty fibers.
At our Brick & Mortar shop we also carry a very large selection of needles, hooks, accessories, patterns, books, magazines and gift items – all aimed at Fiber Artists’ needs. We have one of the largest button selections in town, many from independent artists like One of a Kind Buttons, and Favour Valley Buttons. Among our exclusive offerings are hand-thrown yarn bowls with matching mugs by Oregon Master Potter Frank Philipps. These are really a treat for yourself – or make wonderful gift items.
We support weavers, spinners, and felters with equipment and accessories to meet their needs. Some are available in our Brick & Mortar shop, others are available as a special order – to ensure you get the exact specifications your require.
